Stay-Pro is a simple idea.

We do 2 main things.

First – Stay-Pro helps pros through the complex issues of the rest of your lives; helping you become and stay fulfilled in ways that are meaningful to the unique man that you are. 

Second – Stay-Pro helps aspiring pros with their transition into the land of agents. We call this part of Stay-Pro -  Go-Pro.

People are different.

Some sports agents will promise you things they cannot possibly control.

Some players will benefit from a boutique agency, while others may be best served by a large firm.

Signing with an agent is an important step for you. Choosing your agent can be the very best decision or the worst decision you make in the next 5 years.

And yet they don’t really allow you a lot of time to make a truly informed decision. Rules limit contact and there’s maybe other stuff that you’ve heard of, too.

Usually a family member, a coach, a trusted family friend helps try to make sense of the implications. They will do their best, which is often very good.

Typically, the family member, coach or trusted family friend knows you but has limited knowledge of the business of agents, and what obvious – as well as less obvious -  differences may mean. For instance, how many agents are out there   7? 70? 700? 7,000?

Go-Pro finds out what kind of man you are.

The only 3 things we know for certain about you is that you are young, that you have professional sports aspirations and that you are completely unique.

You have to fill in all the other blanks. But don’t worry, we’ll help you so that you hardly notice it.

We’ll learn about the important people in your life.

We’ll find out the places and things that make you “tick.”

What makes you comfortable as a person, within yourself?

How do you best accept advice?

Do you study and learn better by reading ? By doing ? By watching? By trial and error? By some combination of these?

Often players may want everything and more. And agencies will fall all over themselves to figure out and offer that ‘more’. We know how to find the right sports agent for you.

We know how individual agents treat their clients.

We know how they are regarded by the people they contact for their client.

We know which agents are smart.

We know which agents are protective.

We know which agents are responsive.

We’ll figure out what kind of agent would be in your best interests, then we’ll provide you with a very short list  (1 – 3) of the ones that we think would be your best options, and why.

You are free to dismiss this work entirely, or embrace it as you wish.

If you do not become a pro, then you don’t pay us any money.

What Stay-Pro does is guide your non-pro life – on those days when you aren’t playing, as well as those days when you aren’t going to play again.

An astronomical 60-80% of all professional athletes are divorced.

Some of those are in another tragic group – 30% of former pros are bankrupt or jobless.

We know why, and you probably have a good idea yourself.

You are concerned enough to continue reading, so congratulations on taking the first step, which is realizing that it is not every day that are you in the zone.

First, we are patient, and we take time to evaluate you and your situation. We search to find your focus, your individuality, and your less obvious – even latent – desires.

And then we work with you to determine your other life tendencies, interests and goals. Together, we carve out some directions to fulfill that third half of your life.

Your non-playing life has significance, and the involvements and pursuits you choose can help make you a full and happy person.

We don’t require it, but we like to include your family in these plans. Often, they have a broader picture of the pro than he does of himself. Their image of you may even be clearer, as they may see tendencies that are unknown to you, or that would be unexpected and possibly some that are potentially damaging – to you as well as to those around you. Perhaps you or they are concerned about a dependency – this is a particular specialty of ours.
